FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Good question! There are definitely many sites out there that do photobook printing, some are good and some are not. The Photobook Concierge is a service that does the legwork for you. Our goal is to create long-lasting relationships with our clients. If you have the time, energy, and patience to “DIY,” by all means go right ahead! The Photobook Concierge is not for you. Our service is for those who don’t either have the time, or patience, to sit and undertake a project like this, because lets face it, it’s a lot of work! With us, you don’t have to deal with cropping photos, crashing software, or any of the hassle involved in the DIY of photobooks. You don’t have to press the “randomize” button either, that is, when you eventually get the photos the way you want them. We carefully curate your unique story, and we’ve selected printers that are the epitome of quality! In addition, we edit your photos, optimizing them for not only your photobook, but for you as well (you’ll receive your edited files back). Trip after trip, life event after life event, and year after year, we are there for our clients. We look forward to doing the work for them and delivering a fantastic, finished product. We believe you should spend your time creating memories. We’ll take care of ensuring they are preserved.
It depends on which photobook you purchase (how many pages), how quickly we receive your photos, how quickly you ‘okay’ your proof, and the season (holidays can be much busier times!). If you’re in a time crunch, feel free to reach out to us before you make your purchase to see what our current timeline is, and if a rush fee would suit you.
There are SO MANY paper choices out there! But don’t worry, we did the legwork for you (you’re welcome!). We picked what we believe to be the best! Classic, Showpiece, and Best Day Ever Collections are printed on silk professional grade photo paper. While this type of paper is known to be great for weddings, portraits, and amazing landscapes, we like it due to it’s high end qualities – it’s nearly resistant to fingerprints, and has the luxurious feel of silk fabric. It’s on the more expensive end, and worth it.
The 200 page Yearbook is printed on high end, thick photo gloss paper with a pearl finish, while the 400 page yearbook is printed on a standard, semi-matte paper, and FYI it’s not very thick. For a photobook of this size, however, it’s necessary, since there are a lot of photos/pages.
Photobooks come in either 8×10 (Classic and Yearbook Collections) or 12×12 (Showpiece and Best Day Ever Collections). They’re the perfect size when it comes to showcasing your photos, without being overbearing or too small, both of which are important when storing and placing items in your home.
Classic and Showpiece Collections come in 20, 50, or 100 lay flat pages. Best Day Ever Collection comes in 20 or 50 lay flat, thick, gilded-edge pages. Yearbooks come in either 200 or 400 standard pages. Unfortunately due to the large number of pages in Yearbooks, lay flat pages are not offered.

Absolutely not! We offer the Best Day Ever Collection specifically for weddings, because it’s a way for couples to get that traditional, high-quality, thick-page wedding album for less. It’s truly a stunning, heirloom-type album. However, one can certainly get their wedding images in a photobook from the Classic or Showpiece Collections! With photebooks in those collections you’ll still get the lay flat pages and high quality silk professional photo paper. The only differences are the cover is a hardcover image (vs. Best Day Ever Collection is a leather cover), the edges aren’t gilded (in Best Day Ever Collection they are), and while the pages are thick, they aren’t as thick as in the Best Day Ever Collection. Alternatively, you can purchase the Best Day Ever Collection for any trip or event (not just weddings!).
Just like you’d get at school, a yearbook encompasses an entire years worth of photos. They are quite large, at either 200 or 400 pages, and a great (and beautifully organized way!) to watch your family grow. Never let your memories pile up again. With a yearbook you can send your photos in whenever you want (monthly, every few months, or all at once)! Then, at the beginning of the year you’ll receive a wonderful memento to look back on! For comparison to our other collections, due to the Yearbook’s thick nature, the pages aren’t lay flat, and the paper isn’t as high quality as it is in the Classic or Showpiece Collections (which are more traditional photobooks that come in 20, 50, or 100 pages). Nevertheless, there is nothing like having a yearbook in your family photobook collection year after year to look back on!
Absolutely not. The only thing in your photobooks are your photos!
You have 24 hours from when your order is placed to cancel for a full refund. After that, your slot is reserved. This is to ensure all photobooks get completed in a timely manner, and so that we don’t take on more than we can handle. Should you want to cancel after the 24 hours we still have a few options for you.
If you HAVE already sent us your photos and wish to cancel:
- After 24 hours, but before you receive your proof, a refund minus 25%, 50%, or 75% will be given, depending on where we are in the process. Any edited photos that have been completed up until this point (if any) will be returned to you.
- Should you wish to cancel once you receive your proof, all edited photos will be returned to you, but no refund will be given. At this point it’s worth it just to get your photobook.
If you have NOT sent us any photos and wish to cancel:
- Up to the end of five (5) months after your order date: Refund, minus 25%.
- Six (6) months to the end of eight (8) months after your order date: Refund, minus 50%.
- Nine (9) months to under one (1) year from your order date: Refund, minus 75%.
- One (1) year+ from your order date: No Refund, and your order is automatically cancelled. At this point we’ve already held your slot for a year.
You have up to one (1) year from your order date to send us photos. Should you need more time, or other circumstances arise, simply contact us for details on applying a credit to a future order. You MUST contact us within the one (1) year time frame – from your order date – in order for us to extend a credit towards a future order.
Due to the custom nature of our services, no refunds are given, nor are exchanges issued. There should be no surprises with what you receive, given you are able to proof your photobook prior to it going to print. In addition, we quality check every photobook before we ship it to you. If for some reason you are unhappy, please contact us within 7 days of receiving your product (we go by the date of receipt on the shipment’s tracking) to discuss if there are any options. For more information please read our terms and conditions carefully (which are provided at checkout and can be viewed at any time here).
Absolutely! Any reasonable changes are welcome!
You will be sent a PDF proof of your photobook prior to it being sent to print. At that time you can make any reasonable changes to your photobook. Photobook(s) will not be sent to print until the proof is “okayed” by you. Your proof is sent to the e-mail address you provided at checkout.
Here are some examples of Reasonable vs. Unreasonable changes:
Reasonable Changes Examples:
- Changing the title of your photobook on the cover and/or the spine, or adding a title if there isn’t one. This includes the actual text, to the font type, and color.
- Changing the cover/back/spine background and/or image(s).
- Swapping images out in your photobook. For example, maybe now that you see your book laid out you realize you love a particular photo and you want it be featured in a larger spread. We can make that change.
- Switching the order of pages.
- Taking a photo out, switching it with a different one, or including one that didn’t make the cut.
- Changing page background colors, and things of that nature.
Unreasonable Changes Examples:
- If you submitted images of a certain trip, event, etc, and we made the photobook for that, and then you decide you want the photobook to be of a completely different trip, event, etc.
- You found 100 more images from your trip after the photobook was made, and decide you want us to incorporate them.
- Deciding you want every photo captioned after the book was already made (we don’t mind doing this, it just has to be discussed in advance).
There are a number of ways you can submit your photos. No matter how you send them, we urge you to have a backup on your computer.
1. We send you a file request and you upload them
2. Share an icloud album/photosteam/other online album with us
3. Drop a USB, external hard drive, or memory card with your images on it in the mail. Remember, we are not responsible for your original images, so make sure you back them up. While we of course do our best to return your memory cards/USB drives, etc, we are not held responsible for any lost photos or equipment. Please ensure what you send us has your order number on it.
4. Other – have a different idea? We’ll explore it, but please note we DO NOT ACCEPT YOUR CAMERAS OR ANY OTHER HIGH END EQUIPMENT.

Yes, with a few exceptions. If it’s a professional photograph (like you’d upload when purchasing our Best Day Ever Collection, for example), we don’t usually edit it. Most of the time these photos are already edited by your professional photographer, and don’t warrant any adjustments.
With your personal photos, however, (like you’d upload when purchasing the Classic or Showpiece Collections, as well as Yearbooks, for example), we adjust things like white balance, color, tone, exposure, highlights, shadows, cropping, and other basic things to enhance your photos, if needed. Unless you specifically ask us not to edit your photos (there’s a drop down menu at checkout to select this option), we automatically do these basic edits to enhance your photos, when needed. While all your photos may not make the photobook (please see here for max photos and photo estimates), all edited photos are returned to you via a link to the email you provided when placing your order.
OTHER EDITS: We can do other edits as well, such as smoothing out a persons skin, removing minor blemishes, whitening teeth, and enhancing eye color. However, we do NOT do these type of edits unless you specifically ask us to (by selecting this option at checkout). We don’t mind doing these fixes at all, but we don’t think it’s right for us to alter any person unless we’re asked! Again, just simply click this option at checkout.
IF DON’T WANT US TO EDIT YOUR PHOTOS, DO ONLY BASIC EDITS, OR DO BASIC & OTHER EDITS, AS DEFINED ABOVE, SIMPLY CHOOSE THE DESIGNATED OPTION AT CHECKOUT. ONCE A SELECTION HAS BEEN MADE, AND YOUR ORDER HAS BEEN PLACED, YOUR EDITING OPTIONS CANNOT BE CHANGED.
WHAT WE DO NOT EDIT: We don’t do any major edits, such as removing a person entirely, changing a background, removing glasses, making someone skinnier, or other major fixes, etc. We CAN do these, but due to the additional time involved, an additional fee would apply. Contact us for details, or to get a quote. Then you would purchase a custom listing.
WHEN YOU SEND US MORE THAN THE MAX NUMBER OF PHOTOS: We narrow them down on our own and edit the ones we choose, up to the max amount of photos.
WHILE NOT EVERY EDITED PHOTO WILL MAKE YOUR PHOTOBOOK, YOU WILL RECEIVE ALL EDITED PHOTOS BACK: Via a link for you to download. This will arrive to the email address you provided at checkout. Links are valid for one (1) month from the date they are sent. After that they are no longer available and deleted. Please download them within the one (1) month time frame. We will not re-upload them after they are deleted.
All editing is final and based on our discretion and unique artistic eye.
Check out our editing page for samples!
Occasionally a photobook may “sell out.” We give every single project, no matter how big or small, our utmost attention. Therefore, during busier times, a photobook may “sell out,” or go “out of stock,” while we catch up on current projects. Check back in a couple of weeks, and it will most likely be available again! In the meantime, feel free to reach out, and we will see what we can accommodate.
Right now we only ship domestically (within the United States). We will be expanding shortly, so check back soon!
